Hanan Al-Rustamani joined First Abu Dhabi Bank in 2000, the largest bank in the UAE by assets, and assumed the role of Group CEO in 2021. The bank achieved a net profit of $3.5 billion during the first nine months of 2024, with assets totaling $334.8 billion. The bank also provided new financing to small and medium-sized enterprises amounting to $245 million during the third quarter of the same year.
Al-Rustamani holds membership in several boards, including “Buna” for payments, the cross-border payment system of the Arab Monetary Fund, the Institute of International Finance, the International Institute for Management Development, and the Executive Council of the U.S.-UAE Business Council. She also serves as the Chairperson of the Group of Directors in the Banking Alliance for achieving net-zero carbon emissions launched by the United Nations. Previously, she was the Chair of the Global Council for the Sustainable Development Goals at the United Nations.
